North Miami, Florida is a 100-year old community stretching inland from Biscayne Bay and has grown to include homes, businesses, Florida International University and Johnson and Wales University and 11 parks. Arch Creek Park is the site of Arch Creek Natural Bridge, a natural rock formation used as a roadway bridge until it collapsed and was then painstakingly recreated in the park in 1988. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCa) is a recent arrival on the cultural scene. North Miami is also a center for the television and film industry.. North Miami is a city located in northeas Miami-Dade County, Florida. Originally the town of Arch Creek, the area then incorporated as the Town of Miami Shores, which changed names to North Miami in 1927. The city is also home to the Oleta River State Park, which is the state’s largest urban park.
Biscayne Boulevard has developed more and more to make North Miami a great shopping destination along with established restaurants. 125th Street is another main artery comprised of boutiques, antiques stores and galleries.
North Miami features 2 wonderful gated waterfront communities of Keystone Point and Sans Souci. Many areas within North Miami have the sturdy architecture of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, wonderful Florida green spaces and is also part of the gentrification that is occurring in old neighborhoods all over Miami.
